This
academic session began with great enthusiasm. This year, four hundred
and eighty nine students (489) took admission in the college. Among
these, three hundred thirty seven (337) are girls and two hundred
twenty three (223) are boys.

Recent Additions in the
Library:
In
addition to the existing stock, this year too, we purchased books
on various subjects of worth Rs forty thousand. This year, three
computers with networking and high speed internet were fixed in
the library.
Religious Activities:
The
department is progressing under the leadership of Prof. Kulwinder
Singh on the "Inauguration Day" Sri Sukhmani Sahib was recited and
Kirtan was performed. "Granthi" Giani Sukhjinder Singh Ji from Sri
Harmandir Sahib participated in the program. From 25th Nov. to 27th
Nov 2009 religious examination was held. Our 60 students appeared
in the same. On 16th Jan 2010 a seminar dedicated to the 10th guru
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was organized. Dr. Gursharanjit Singh,
head religious deptt GNDU, Asr attended the function as Chief Guest.
Our students received Rs. 42500/- as scholarship from SGPC.
60
students from our college appeared in the religious test organized
by the SGPC. Our eleven students won scholarships in the said exam
in the session 2007-08.
Cultural and Artistic
Activities:
Students
are provided chances to develop their cultural 7 artistic skills
through the activities. The development is progressing with leaps
and bounds under the supervision of Prof. Sarabjit Kaur, Gurdeep
Singh, Dr. H.S Hundal and Mrs. Gurmeen Kaur.
This
year, in the GNDU youth festival, our students won following positions,
in posture making-1st, Fresh Flower Arrangement-2nd, Folk Orchestra-2nd,
Histrionics-2nd, Clay Modelling-3rd, Dry Flower Arrangement-3rd,
Photography-3rd, Mimicry-3rd, Mime-3rd, Installation -3rd, Our students
brought honor to the college through their performances.
In
the competitions, organized by the 'Sabhyacharak Pirhi', Dist Gurdaspur,
our college student Jatinder Kaur won the title 'Miss Punjaban'
, Avneet Kaur won the title 'Morni Wargi Chaal' Arpinder Kaur won
the title 'Toone Haari Akh' and Satinder Kaur bagged the title 'Sohne
Gehne'

It was a matter of great
pride for us that our college won Second Runners up Champions’
Trophy in the competition.
It is a matter of immense delight that the
college is continuously winning trophies in the said festival, since
six years.
NSS Activities (Boys
and Girls):
These
units of the N.S.S are active in the college under the supervision
of Dr. Harpreet Singh Hundal & Dr. Sandeep Kaur. Interest in manual
labour and social service are created in the students through the
camps.
On
24th Sept 2009 'Van Mahatav Utsav' was celebrated. Dr. Karamjit
Singh Saraan DC Gurdaspur presided over the function.
Our
N.S.S volunteers were sent to the surroundings villages of the district,
to conduct a survey on the directions of a Govt organization 'Assar'
on 14th & 15th Nov 2009. A seven days camp from 19 Dec to 25 Dec
2009 was organized in the village Bhagatpura. Our students made
people aware of social evils.
NCC Activities (Boys
and Girls):
These
units(Boys & Girls) are active in the college. Girls unit is being
supervised by Mrs. Sukhpal Kaur. This year, 4 N.C.C. cadets (Boys)
attended a ten days N.C.C. ATC at Bhagatpura from 19th Oct to 28th
Oct 2009. Our girls cadets participated in a camp, from 20th Dec
to 30th Dec 2009, held at Govt. College Asr. Eighteen girls appeared
in 'B' Certificate and 5 girls appeared in 'C' Certificate tests.
N.C.C
Girls
cadets participated in "Chetna Rally" on the AIDS Day and they also
escorted Chief Guests in different programmes held in the campus.
Sports Activities:
Mr.
Kuldeep Singh Won gold medal in 5000m race in the Punjab open tournament
held at Sangrur on 12th Sep 2009. He got silver medal in 43rd open
Punjab cross country on 10th Jan 2010.
Jagpreet Singh won gold medal in 5000m race , in open Punjab on
12th Sep 2009.
Prabhjit singh was selected for Univ. Football team.
Amritpal Singh won gold medal in wt. lifting . he lifted 225 kg
in under 18 category held at Bharatgarh (ropar) om 26th Jan 2010.
Jagpreet Singh And Malkeet Singh were selected best Athletes on
the annual sports day of the college.
New Constructions:
The
incomplete college Block since 60 yrs was constructed with the efforts
of the Sec. LMC Hakim Swaran Singh Ji Bhatia and Rs. 15 lacs 40
thousand have been spent to complete the same.
College
building , bathrooms were repaired with Rs. One lac.
New
classrooms have been constructed on the comp. Block . Dr. M.S. Gill
has donated Rs. 10 lacs. Our President S.E.S, S.G.S Barar has done
efforts for the same.
College Transportation:
Last
year four buses on lease was started to bring the students from
the villages around. This year two buses on lease have been started.
The college transportation has helped the students a lot, since
the marginal fare only is charged.
Our College Staff in

Our
college Principal Dr. B.S. Malhi is member of Academic Counsel &
He is also Preesident of Football Club, GNDU Amritsar.
Mrs.
Sarabjit Kaur are the members of Faculty of Languages, GNDU Amritsar.
Mr.
Kulwinder Singh is the member of Science Faculty, GNDU Amritsar.
Mr.
Gurinder Singh is the member of Social Sciences Faculty, GNDU Amritsar.
Campus Activities:
Dr.
H.K.Mahajan attended a workshop on 22nd Dec 2009, at Chandigarh
organized by red cross society Punjab.
Mrs. Sarabjeet Kaur, Head Post graduate Department of Punjabi was
selected a member of 'board of Moderation' for 2009-2010 by GNDU
Asr. She participated in two days seminar at Chandigarh as delegate.
Mrs.
Sukhpal Kaur, In-charge Career Guidance organized seminar on behalf
of Neptune organization on 7th Nov. 2009.
Dr.
Sandeep Kaur participated as delegate in the workshop on Higher
edu. and woman in society organized by the U.S.C.
Prof.
Gurinder Singh participated in seminars-'Indian Higher Education
and New forms', 'Punjabi culture and religion',. He organized a
seminar held by G.B.N on Business Resource, Canada.
Prof.
Gurdeep Singh organized a seminar on ' Personality development.
Dr.
Harpreet Singh Hundal attended a 'Kavi Darbar held during 'Mela
Gadr Babean Da' held at Gsp, organized by 'Punjabi Kendari Sabha'
on 16th Aug 2009, in the memory of Principal Sujan Singh
Prof
Harkawal Singh Bal & Prof. Satwinder Singh organized a seminar on
'Software engineering'.
From
Bostan the N.R.I Dr. J.B. Singh attended the college function on
8th Feb 2010. LMC honored him and he awarded scholarships to the
university merit holders and thirty BCA students.
On
13th Nov 2009, S. Partap Singh Bajwa (M.P) inaugurate CBSE School
State Games and he gave Rs. 50,000 for Bathrooms in the ground.
